  • Why You should learn linux

300/28 Just like Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X, Linux is an operating system. An operating system is software that manages all of the hardware resources associated with your desktop or laptop. To put it simply – the operating system manages the communication between your software and your hardware. Without the operating system (often referred to as the “OS”), the software wouldn’t function.

  • Is Linux an OS, a kernel or both? (Linux vs GNU/Linux)

The word "Linux" has entered into the English language meaning a complete Unix-like operating system based on the Linux kernel, which was originally written by Linus Torvalds.

However there are people that claim that Linux is *just* a kernel, and not a full OS. People who make such distinctions often insist on using the GNU/Linux moniker.

So, is Linux an OS, a kernel or both? Should we call it Linux or GNU/Linux?

  • REVIEW: Ubuntu Touch Smartphone OS!

We take a deeper examination of Canonical's Ubuntu Touch OS.
    Find Ubuntu Phones: https://goo.gl/6VItiq
    Find the Nexus 5: http://amzn.to/2jSq8v2
    Nexus 4: http://amzn.to/2iFIkuc

Ubuntu Touch (also known as Ubuntu Phone) is a mobile version of the Ubuntu operating system developed by Canonical Ltd. and the Ubuntu community. It is designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers.

Ubuntu Touch uses the Qt 5-based touch user interface and various software frameworks originally developed for Maemo and MeeGo such as oFono as telephony stack, accounts-sso for single sign-on, and Maliit for input. Using libhybris the system can often be used with Linux kernels used in Android, which makes it easily ported to most recent Android smartphones. Libertine is Ubuntu's project to run traditional desktop X applications.
