I cannot find the drive "Etcher" after I have added linuxmint...64bit.iso NEED HELP
What Linux distro is best for running virtual machines? Or does it matter at all.
O thanks alot
What sucks about the terminal is not knowing what to type in to get what you want done.
All good through install...until I tried to add the MS core fonts via terminal. It started to unpack, then produced the EULA agreement but even after scrolling I could not "activate" the OK acceptance. At that point only 55% percent had been installed. Everything froze. Ultimately I cancelled out of terminal and even restarted. Now the same install command produces messages about "resource temporarily unavailable" and "Unable to acquire the dpkg frontend lock...is another process using it?" Help!

* * * * * * IS THERE A WAY TO INSTALL LINUX MINT 19 ON A COMPUTER WITH A CRASHED WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM,? I HAVE 3 LAPTOPS WITH CRASHED WINDOWS. ALL THE COMPUTERS ARE GOOD, THERE IS ONLY A GLITCH OR DISK DEFECT IN THE WINDOWS FILE. I HAVE EVEN TRIED REPLACING THE HD, AND REFORMATING THE HD IN AN EXTERNAL DRIVE ADAPTER. NOTHING WORKS IN UBUNTU OR MINT 19. I REALLY HATE TO USE $4000 WORTH OF LAPTOPS FOR TARGET PRACTICE, JUST BECAUSE OF AN ERROR IN THE WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM. ANSWER AT "SEQENARYTAO@GMAIL.COM" HURRY WITH YOUR ANSWER, I AM 80 AND RUNNING OUT OF LIFESPAN. * * * * * * *
Will Google Chrome also work on Linux Mint 19
Excellent tutorial thanks.
Am I correct in presuming that linux could be installed on a second hard drive and booted from there without needing to erase the HD my Windows is on?
My HP laptop is 2015 model with Pentium dual core 2.16 Ghz, 4 GB RAM, pre installed Windows 8.1, I installed Linux mint 19.2 alongside with windows 8.1 in dual boot configuration, the problem is even though I can login into Linux I can't shutdown it or restart it, the screen goes blank after a while, what could be the problem?
I'm going to make a new pc, and i will use the ryzen 3 2200g, is Mint good?
Excellent vid. Informative, well articulated and good pacing.
I'm a Windows 7 user, and since Microsoft is going to discontinue security updates next January, I'm going to need a new PC and I absolutely have no interest in moving to Windows 10 as it's a privacy nightmare and I'm through supporting that behemoth of a corporation. I've read a few articles and watched some videos and I'm relatively certain that I'm going to get a desktop machine from "eightvirtues.com" with Linux Mint preinstalled. There's an incredible amount of distributions of Linux available, but Linux Mint seems to be the one that many ex Windows users site as the easiest one to transition over to. That will happen in a month or two and I'm looking forward to it!
Is Linux Mint free?
Many thanks Christopher, a terrific video, straightforward and to the point!
