deepin OS is the best for Linux newbies given that it's the nicest and rarely has a problem.
It's designed on Gnome 3 so more powerful rig is required. For older hardware Antix, MX or other without full implemented systemD and resources hungry Gnome 3. Xfce, lxde, lxqt, mate and many others.
cool☺️ linux ultimate edition is also good distro ☺️
Yes indeed. But only the oldest versions. Below 10. 5, or 6
Good advice as always.
Hi Tom, For a some switching to Linux, what would be recommendations in your preferred order? Also, what do you look for in a distro for a new Linux user?
Zorin is a good choice. As long as it will install go for it.
The way the accent color settings also applies to the folders is really cool!
I found this new Zorin to be slow and clunky better Os is MXlinux
There's nothing wrong with having WINE installed by default. If a user doesn't like it then they can uninstall it.
I'm amused that part of the selling point of the paid Ultimate edition is the inclusion of SuperTuxKart.
For a new user? Yes. Looks very Windows 10 like with the white and black theme and default panel. Light theme to white, but it has options. Looks very slick this Zorin. High memory usage too, but hey Gnome;)
I wish you could do a proton/steam performance list even just basics skyrim or something but i know your not a gamer if i remember right from you saying it in an older video
Zorin 15 - best Linux distribution of 2019...
It may be a user friendly distro, but I'd never recommend it over Linux Mint. Also, what annoys me is that they have a paid option. Either provide everything or nothing. Also, the fact that they are an EU company, yet can't meet GDPR rules, is extremely worrying. And they should be worried too, as the fact they can't meet those requirements, whilst offering a commercial product, leaves them open to all manner of legal issues.
I like Zorin 15. Much better than their previous versions. I like the white and the flat look. Runs really good. Just would like the ability to change the taskbar to dark separately while leaving the menu white and all. One thing that always bothered me about Zorin was the fact of charging a high price for the Ultimate version and really doesn't give you much more than you can do yourself. I never liked the way they do that but none-the-less I do believe they have done a really good job on the look and feel for this. Out-of-the-box experience is a close 10. Oh, and I really appreciate how LibreOffice is pre-configured. It really makes LibreOffice look good and I'm not just talking about the Ribbon-tab look (which I happen to prefer) but the colors and icons just fit so well. I have been currently running Zorin 15 for the past week to see how well it goes for me. So far so good.
LMDE debian 10 coming in July, That's the Dee!
The third layout option is for touchscreens. I wonder if there's a way to get some touchscreen linux on a traditional tablet.
I'm not into gnome, but if I'd switch to it I'd choose the Zorin version for sure. Beautiful and snappy in my opinion.
Too Gnomey for me. Wine not being installed sounds like a good idea, but check their feedback on installing WINE from their repository. Lots of 1 stars.
