After 2 fruitless journeys into Linux in the past, I just installed Mint, and have been using on a spare laptop I wasn't using. I'm finding myself using it more than my Win10 machine and I just may switch to it as a full time rig. I don't know if I can run all of my games from it yet, but Steam installed and runs on the Mint machine. The laptop is a bit older, so I can't test games on it, so I wonder if anyone else has experience with gaming. It's the only thing I'd need Windows for. If I can run games and have them run well on Linux, I'd switch completely. Another thing is this laptop had a 2-core Pentium and 4GB of RAM (I think it's from 2009 lol). It would no longer run Windows 10 reliably and was retired, but feels like new with Linux Mint installed.
WTF with that background music ?
I've been using Elementary OS for last 6-7 months and on the other pc I've been recently keeping up with Parrot OS
The stupid and creepy opera music is distracting and disturbing. Everyone has their favorites. I try to stay away from the piddly fringe distrrros. Stick with what you know....Mint may be the most popular... but its getting a little long in the truth.
He sounds like peter griffin
Can one access high speed internet with a telephone line and one's own personal server assuming the telephone line has already been upgraded to receive high speed service? In other words, can someone bypass the monthly service fees of an outside server with one's own server connected to the INTERNET using Ubuntu or some other distro on a separate computer?
mint 18.2 is a pain for coding in c lol
The comments section gave me cancer.
Elementary OS looks the best to me. The desktop environments that have a menu that says "menu" on it drive me crazy.
It is pronunced guh-nome not nome
Which Linux distro is the best for photo and video editing? And why?
cool ubumtu runs on keemstar
Mint is shit. Debian is prehistorical. Ubuntu is ugly. openSUSE is also ugly. Manjaro is a noobs Arch, and Arch is always breaking. Fedora is stripped of anything fun. Elementary might be my only thumbs up. Zorin is pay2win, and it's not even more similar to Windows than free distributions trying to achieve the same. Fuck Zorin. CentOS is a server distribution, serisously it is. When Ubuntu gets Gnome I'll give that a thumbs up too, until then just use the Ubuntu Gnome flavor. Conclusion, this list is shit.
Nice soundtrack, bro!

What? No MX-16 Linux? 😕
As a Windows veteran if I want to install a Linux distro on my main PC it's Mint or never
Which one do you prefer ? I like the design the of the windows and I want things on my Dektop.... which should I use for programming and a little bit of gaming?
