Sr. IT Solutions Consultant (Pre-sales)

About this Opportunity

IT Specialist Advisory Services, a newly formed division of IT Specialist Network (ITSN) based in Huntsville, Alabama, is an IT procurement advisory service specializing in cybersecurity, cloud computing and managed services. The division assists organizations of all kinds in the acquisition of information technology and telecommunication products and services from around the world. Moreover, the division has adopted a vendor neutral approach to IT procurement for its clients, helping insure the optimal application of technology for any given client.


The Role

As a new division, we are seeking to build a team of Trusted Advisors in a customer facing role who specialize in either cybersecurity, cloud computing, or managed services. In this consultative role you will play a crucial role in effectively communicating the value and benefits of our services to both prospects and clients of ITSN. Moreover, you will emphasize how our consulting services can save them time, money, and effort in the acquisition of information technology and telecom services for their entity.


Your Impact

As a senior IT solutions consultant or Trusted Advisor:

  • Help drive consultative sales opportunities via our large online base of technical professionals or communities, and other channels as recommended.
  • Assist in the delivery of client-focused presentations for technical, business and stakeholder units remotely via Microsoft Teams or Zoom or in person, if possible.
  • Actively manage and develop sales relationships with prospects, vendors, and distributors as necessary.
  • Occasionally work with marketing to develop both partner and direct market sales strategies as needed.
  • Assist in running customer-facing sales meetings and engagements on occasion. 
  • Help design and manage a prospecting plan from time to time.
  • Travel locally occasionally, building new prospect relationships and nurturing existing ones. 


Your Capabilities and Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years (10 years preferably) of IT solutions consulting and/or technical pre-sales support, software sales, and/or industry experience.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Ability to lead conversations with prospects and clients.
  • Serve as a liaison between prospective clients and other Trusted Advisors at ITSN.
  • Identify opportunities in our cost-saving services with prospects and new clients, building them into long-term relationships.
  • Ability to travel locally or domestic (up to 15%)
  • Persuasive presentation and communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences required.
  • A track record of performing IT consultative sales or consulting in general. This job is not for beginners or those transitioning from other industries.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn and understand complex ideas or concepts.
  • Preferred prior experience or familiarity with using HubSpot, Microsoft365, Teams and/or Zoom. If not, training will be provided as necessary.
  • Familiarity with social media networks, primarily LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter).
  • Familiarity with social media marketing concepts.
  • A U.S. citizen and living within the continental United States.


Your Reward

In your role as a Sr. IT Consultant, you will be given wide latitude or independence in how you work with IT Specialist Advisory Services. You will be functioning as a pre-sales consultant mostly on a remote basis, giving you the freedom to work unsupervised and within your own time schedule. You will also be given the unparalleled opportunity to leverage the IT Specialist Network platform as an industry leader or budding influencer, which can lead to even higher sales or income, setting you apart from many of your peers in the industry. Furthermore, you will also be able to participate in a generous stock option plan or grant from day one, which is rarely offered in the industry.


The position of Sr. IT Solutions Consultant is a pay for performance 1099 based compensation plan.  Once earned, commissions are generally paid monthly based on subscriber seats/contract length, and/or singular contract deals and spiffs. Training and ongoing support is provided on tools and platforms used to conduct sales and lead generation.


As a consultative sales representative you will be required to sign a non-disclosure/non-compete agreement as a condition of contracting with ITSN.
